per year A bit about us: Reporting to the District Engineer, tasked
with evaluating proposed developments and the corresponding water
system upgrades needed to ensure water service within the
District's service area. Responsibilities also encompass drafting
water service commitment documents when needed. Additionally,
duties include planning, designing, and overseeing the construction
of water system infrastructure, including both capital improvements
and maintenance projects. This role may involve hydraulic analysis
of systems, infrastructure design, mapping, CAD drafting,
developing specifications, and other assigned tasks. Why join us?

well-being. Job Details Responsibilities: The following duties are
expected; however, the position may require additional or different
duties to address business needs and evolving practices: Review
planning documents, design plans, and specifications prepared by
consultants, agencies, businesses, and developers for water system
improvements needed to serve proposed developments within the
District's service area. Respond to inquiries from the public,
developers, and tap holders regarding tap purchases and associated
approved uses or restrictions according to District policies.
Effectively communicate the District’s development processes to
developers, their consultants, and the public. Assist in developing
capital improvement plans and specifications for constructing
District facilities and system upgrades. Aid in managing long-term
planning and the development of engineering functions within the
District. Administer contracts including reviewing pay
applications, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring compliance
with District standards and approved plans for capital projects.
Evaluate service requests and conduct hydraulic modeling to assess
system performance. Perform duties professionally and collaborate
effectively with others both independently and in team settings.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications The following
outlines the knowledge and abilities necessary to enter the job or
be acquired shortly thereafter to perform assigned duties
successfully: Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with or ability
to learn District standards and specifications to ensure compliance
during facility construction dedicated to the District. Excellent
verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer
applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Preferably skilled in AutoCAD Civil3D software. Knowledge of
spreadsheet programming/macros. Ability to interpret technical
information from manuals, drawings, specifications, blueprints, and
schematics. General understanding of waterline systems
construction. Solid grasp of hydraulics and water systems.
Familiarity with ESRI GIS applications. Ability to collaborate
effectively within project teams and across departments. Education
and Experience Guidelines: Any combination of education and
experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities is
qualifying. Typically, this includes: Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering
field. Experience: Minimum of two years in civil engineering, land
development, municipal engineering, or a related field. Ability to
quickly grasp and apply District policies, rules, and regulations.
License or Certificate: Engineer Intern (EI) or ability to obtain
EI status within one year of employment as Civil Engineer I. Valid
Colorado driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record for
