Position Title: LRL Colorado Lead HSE Representative Supervisor Title: Sr. Director – LRLHSE – Regional Site Integration and Execution Position Type: Full Time Standard 40-hour work week with occasional flexibility based on project phases and other activities. Job Function: Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) Location: Louisville, Colorado, USA Position Description: Provide health and safety and industrial hygiene support to expanding Colorado and other R&D sites with a goal to harmonize HSE programs, safety culture and execution processes across our Lilly Research Laboratory network including current and future acquisition opportunities. The position will work closely with the LRL HSE Regional Team to assess risk, prioritize needs and grow HSE. Partner with LRL HSE Regional Team and site contract HSE personnel to ensure activities at these R&D sites maintain HSE compliance with local and federal regulations and achieve adherence to applicable Lilly HSE standards within appropriate timeframes based on their longevity and relationship as a Lilly entity. Support site HSE and operations personnel both remotely and on site as needed for external inspections and internal audits, and for emerging HSE issues or incidents that need additional HSE support. Work with LRL HSE regional technical hub personnel and contract HSE personnel to prioritize and perform industrial hygiene needs and project work across global research sites. Gain knowledge of and serve as a technical resource for core H&S tools and Lilly processes. Maintain an ongoing understanding of the H&S liabilities, risks and capabilities for each site, including using site connections and business and HSE systems to anticipate changes in site risk profiles based on site growth, capital projects, changes to modalities and the evolution of science. Partner with LRL HSE Regional Technical Hub, LRL HSE technical resources, and site HSE resources to address identified gaps, grow safety culture, develop & execute HSE roadmaps and achieve prioritized goals. Assist sites in understanding appropriate timing and help implement core LRL HSE systems and processes for notification to management, incident response, corporate reporting, lab inspections, and other systems utilized across the LRL network. Partner with LRL HSE Regional Team to recommend and assist with development and implementation of simplified, right-sized HSE programs for regional research sites, and to offer input in evaluating site HSE contract support personnel to maintain technical expertise based on site activities. Network with LRL HSE technical resources and recommend arrangements for specialized HSE contract assistance and as needed for project work that lies outside existing site capabilities. Enable desired behaviors throughout the organization through clear communication and respect for people. Lead or support special projects as assigned by the LRL HSE Regional Site Integration and Execution Lead and LRL Executive Director. Responsible for informing, educating, and interfacing with scientific staff and management leaders within LRL organization where needed regarding site HSE issues, programs and needs. Provide IH and Safety support for HSE programs including but not limited to the following systems across sites: Colorado Sites (1, 2, and 3), NY, and South San Francisco Chemical Hygiene Plan and Programs Exposure Assessment Hazard Communication & Risk Assessment HSE risk profile and leading and lagging metrics Site self-assessments Safety culture growth and progression Contractor safety Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications): Bachelors degree or higher in a scientific or pharmaceutical development related field HSE expertise with 5 years of IH related experience Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Previous team leadership or coaching experience Experience with or knowledge of scientific laboratory instrumentation. Experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a research environment. Demonstrated ability to engage and influence scientists and/or business partners to achieve business results. The anticipated wage for this position is $71,250 - $187,000 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
