Position and Responsibilities OverviewLead mentor, and develop a
high-performance Operations team, ensuring the integration of
strategic initiatives, budget alignment, and operational
efficiency. Provide the leadership to create operational processes
and procedures, and ensure alignment of departmental goals with
corporate objectives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of long-term
strategies for operational efficiency and growth in electrical
construction and manufacturing projects.
- Implement Operations programs including policies, practices,
procedures, systems, and documentation.
- Complete or coordinate basic accounting, project cost and trend
reports, WIP, CSRs, and monthly forecasts in conjunction with the
financial team.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for all projects, identifying
potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and uncertainties that could
impact project success. Develop comprehensive risk analysis reports
and action plans to address these risks.
- Assist Preconstruction Team on strategic opportunities.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential
disruptions or emergencies, such as supply chain issues, workforce
shortages, or unexpected project changes. Ensure these plans are
regularly reviewed and updated to adapt to evolving project
conditions.
- Review and monitor the Operations Team preparation and setup of
budgets, billings and change orders, and negotiation of
subcontractors, monitoring of labor hours and project costs,
coordination with suppliers.
- Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with
subcontractors, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and
vendors.
- Coordinate timely completion of procurement procedures in
conjunction with the purchasing team.
- Responsible for the administration of the signed subcontract
requirements with respect to conformance with agreements, contract
documents, and change orders.
- Coordinate ordering, processing, and delivery of materials and
equipment with OEMs, vendors and purchasing.
- Assist investigations into any incidents or accidents that
occur on-site, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective
actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure turnover and pre-production planning meetings are
conducted.
- Confirm bid matches contracted work and that an accurate budget
is developed.
- Ensure prompt review and processing contracts and subcontract
agreements.
- Provide training, mentoring, coaching and leadership to
Operations team.
- Ensure productivity tracking is implemented, updated and
analyzed on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate with executive management to align operational
strategies with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Contribute to strategic planning sessions by offering insights on
operational capabilities, resource needs, and market trends.
- Ensure that all RKEL projects' monthly cost projections are
completed accurately and timely.
- Maintain owner, customer, engineer and vendor relationships as
required.
- Continuously improve utilizing input from the team on improving
procedures, productivity and efficiency.
- Provide regular updates and detailed reports to executive
management on project progress, operational performance, and key
metrics. Ensure clear and transparent communication regarding
project status, challenges, and achievements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior
leadership.Qualifications
- Master Electrician or degree in engineering/construction
management
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a proven track
record in leading large-scale projects.
- Expertise in the field with significant experience in project
management with P&L responsibilities.
- Strong strategic planning, organizational, and analytical
skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership with a high degree of creativity,
