Job Description:
Lead Pastor, Aurora, CO: As a Lead Pastor, you will Provide
spiritual leadership to the paid ministry team and shape leadership
culture; Oversee and actively lead the Directional Leadership Team
to ensure each team member is growing in their faith personally,
and allowing team members in their oversight to be growing
spiritually themselves, with the ultimate goal for the whole
congregation to be growing in their trust and faith in Jesus; Work
with the Elder Board and Transitional Leader Team to determine
spiritual growth goals and plans to implement these goals to ensure
the Eastern Hills congregation and ministry teams are taking steps
to continue to follow Jesus; Oversee the Executive Pastor of
Ministries as they manage the day-to-day ministry alignment of the
church to ensure the vision of Reaching Out, Growing Deep, and
Partnering with Families is carried out by staff and volunteers to
allow the congregation to take next steps in following and serving
Jesus and his teachings; Oversee the Director of Finance as they
manage the ongoing Finances and Donor Care and Development, and
manage ongoing strategic development and long-term ministry
priorities. This includes personal and corporate congregational
discipleship to become more generous with their time, talent, and
treasure in serving Eastern Hills and the community around them;
Oversee the Director of Operations as they manage the day-to-day
requirements and ministry projects of administrative functions and
teams. The goal is to ensure that environments are conducive for
safe and effective ministry to people of all ages during weekend
services and various gatherings and Bible studies throughout the
week; Serve as the primary person to give sermons in all weekend
services, with a personal limit of teaching 39 weekends per year.
Messages should be Biblical and allow for next steps to be taken to
ensure the Eastern Hills congregation is being transformed
spiritually; The Lead Pastor will provide effective oversight and
direction to all three areas of vision; Reach Out, Grow Deep, and
Partner with Families; Work collaboratively with the Creative Team
to develop impactful and transformational services each weekend
that help people take next steps toward Jesus; Provide leadership
and direction for the Creative Team in scheduling teaching series
and topics that move forward the mission of inviting everyone to
experience that Following Jesus Makes Life Better. Messages should
also propel the vision of Reaching Out into our community to serve
people in our neighborhoods, our city, and around the world;
Growing Deep in our faith to learn the teachings of Jesus and
implement those teachings into daily life; and Partnering with
Families to ensure kids and students are learning the tenets of the
Christian faith and following Jesus more closely as they grow up;
Mentor teachers in all large group environments. Master’s degree in
Divinity, Theology, Biblical Studies, or Spiritual Formation;
Minimum of 5 years in the lead chair of a church of at least 1,000
attendees; Full alignment with Eastern Hills’ Statement of Beliefs;
Has experience working in a partner church of The Irresistible
Church Network or attended one of their conferences. Eastern Hills
