A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse with orthopedic expertise to contribute to a well-established surgical unit in Aurora, CO. This contract position offers an evening overnight schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM, providing a chance to engage with a dedicated nursing team specializing in orthopedic care. Location: Positioned on the 9th floor of a prominent hospital facility, the MS Orthopedic unit consists of 20 beds and maintains a nursing ratio of 1:5 to ensure attentive patient care. The unit supports a diverse patient population, including elective orthopedic and orthopedic trauma cases. The hospital is equipped with Meditech EMR for seamless documentation and care coordination. Key Responsibilities: - Independently manage up to 5 orthopedic surgical patients during night shifts - Perform specialized procedures such as dressing changes and aspirations - Collaborate closely with a charge nurse and fellow nurses to deliver exceptional patient outcomes - Apply pain management protocols and orthopedic care techniques to enhance patient recovery - Uphold unit guidelines and contribute to maintaining a positive and supportive team environment Qualifications & Desired Experience: - Valid RN license with proven orthopedic and surgical nursing experience - Ability to independently manage multiple patients in a high-acuity orthopedic unit - Strong skills in pain management and orthopedic postoperative care preferred - Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player with a positive attitude Work Schedule: - 7 PM to 7 AM, night shifts on a contract basis Why This Unit Stands Out: This orthopedic unit is recognized for its strong teamwork and commitment to quality patient care.
