Job Summary and Qualifications The OR nurse navigator help patients navigate their way to quality and timely care while explaining and responding to questions related to the treatment process. The OR nurse navigator liaisons with scheduling, the OR, the inpatient units/providers, the surgeons, the surgeons’ offices, and the patients. The OR nurse navigator will be responsible for contacting orthopedic and spine patients prior to surgery to provide education, increasing quality outcomes, and patient experience. This position requires participation in driving quality initiatives and a commitment to uphold Rose Medical Center’s Standards of Behavior. What you will do in this role: - Contacts all orthopedic and spine patients prior to surgery. - Leads multiple weekly classes in-person and on-line for orthopedic and spine patients to attend. Collaborates with IPS providers to educate patients about requirements/expectations for surgery. - Maintains good working relationships with surgeon offices to facilitate transmission and reinforcement of surgeon-specific postoperative instructions to patients. - Rounds on patients postoperatively to address questions/concerns. - Assists in retrieving and improving quality metric data. - Other duties as assigned. What qualifications you will need: - Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. - Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross - BSN Required - Two to four years pre-op/PACU/surgical/procedural nursing experience is desirable.
