Employee Referral Amount:United States DollarPosting End Date:5/15/2025Your ImpactAs the Director of Tax Research, Planning and Strategy, you will support the planning and implementation of global tax strategies that support Newmont's growth, transactions, and compliance. Your expertise will guide complex tax planning across international operations, enabling efficient and sustainable business decisions.As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Collaborate with Corporate Development and Legal on structuring tax and business efficient acquisitions and divestments.
  • Provide tax advice on materially significant transactions and ensure that tax implications are adequately documented.
  • Communicate tax issues and implications in a clear and concise manner to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of long-term and short-term global tax planning initiatives.
  • Lead internal team members and external resources in implementing effective tax planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with each Site Tax Directors on tax research and advice of potential strategies and planned transactions.
  • Collaborate with Treasury on tax and commercially efficient cash and capital management.
  • Oversight of tax strategy on legal entity management and legal entity rationalization.
  • Collaborate with US Tax Compliance team to monitor US tax legislation developments, research and analyze potential tax implications, and recommend adjustments to US tax methods and elections when appropriate.
  • Analyze organic expansion projects and provide advice for tax efficient investments.Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
    • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Taxation or LL.M. highly preferred
    • CPA or equivalent professional certification
    • Strong experience in U.S. corporate and international taxation
    • Deep knowledge of Subchapter C; familiarity with Subchapter K
    • Skilled in navigating tax research tools (e.g., CCH, BNA, IBFD)
    • Strong ability to translate complex tax issues into actionable strategies

        The salary range offered for this role is USD $149,175 - 208,845. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
        This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
